Making the Most of Your Amazon Prime Membership: July Kindle First Books

Happy Primeday, everyone!

Have you gotten any great deals?  I keep checking back, but don’t have a lot left on gift cards to spend (and not a whole lot that I need, either.) You have to be a member of Amazon Prime to participate in these deals, but great news! You can try Amazon Prime for FREE for 30-Days!

Are You Making the Most of Your Prime Membership?

Every month, Amazon offers Amazon Prime Members an opportunity to download one e-book for free through Kindle First. They have a selection of 6 books, each of a different genre for you to choose. You can read these books even if you don’t own a Kindle. Just download the Amazon Kindle Reading App to the device of your choice, or use it to read from your browser on your laptop or PC.  Amazon usually chooses books that haven’t been released yet, so you get a chance to read them before the general public. I have read a ton of good books. They usually don’t choose “mainstream” authors, but I haven’t been disappointed yet.

This month’s books are:

I am torn! The Sky Below looks like an awesome memoir. It has the feel of a real life The Martian (minus getting stuck on Mars, obviously.)  Mrs. Saint and the Defectives looks quirky, and reminds me of Maria Semple’s Where’d You Go, Bernadette? And the King of Broken Things also looks right up my alley! What a tough decision!

I usually at least check out the Kindle First books (and picked up A Beautiful Poison this month) but there are a fair number I haven’t read yet.

I did get my husband a new cell phone (the Amazon Moto G5) since I picked one up last month and he really likes it, especially the camera. It was $60 off the regular Amazon price today, so worth getting, especially since we’d budgeted the full amount.
